Client Service Associate

Meridian Wealth Advisors | Portland, OR (In-Office)

Meridian Wealth Advisors, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial, is seeking a high-level Client Service Associate to join our growing private wealth management practice. This is a key, client-facing role for someone who takes pride in delivering exceptional service, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and is interested in building a long‑term career within a collaborative, team‑oriented firm.

We are a well-established practice serving a focused group of high-value clients through a comprehensive financial planning approach. Our culture is respectful, collegial, and relationship-driven, with a strong emphasis on integrity, efficiency, and balance—both professionally and personally.

The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, personable, and capable of managing multiple priorities with confidence and independence.

What You’ll Do Client Service & Relationship Support
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, handling inbound calls, emails, and service requests with professionalism and care

  • Manage client scheduling, meeting preparation, follow-up, and ongoing communication

  • Anticipate client needs and proactively follow up to ensure a consistently high level of service

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships rooted in trust and responsiveness

Operations & Administrative Support
  • Prepare and process client paperwork, including account forms, applications, beneficiary updates, letters, and service requests

  • Maintain accurate client records, documentation, and CRM data

  • Support recurring operational projects such as RMD processing and annual service initiatives

  • Assist with meeting follow-up, technology support for clients, and internal workflow coordination

Practice Support & Growth
  • Work closely with the advisor to ensure client relationships run smoothly and efficiently

  • Contribute to practice initiatives that support growth, efficiency, and client satisfaction

  • Additional responsibilities may be added over time based on team needs and career goals, including exposure to planning support or research activities

What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience in client service, administrative, or operations support (financial services experience strongly preferred)

  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail

  • Professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small team

  • Comfort managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general office technology

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Willingness to pursue licensing over time (licensing not required at hire)

  • Desire to grow with the firm and become a long-term team member

Career Growth & Licensing

This role is designed with long-term growth in mind. As the practice continues to expand, there may be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and advance within the firm. Licensing (such as Series 7, Series 66, and state life/health insurance) is not required at hire but may be supported in the future based on performance, interest, and career goals.

Work Environment
  • In-office position in Portland, OR

  • Full-time, in-office presence preferred for the first 6–12 months to support training, collaboration, and relationship-building

  • Some flexibility may be considered over time; this is not a fully remote role

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $70,000–$90,000 (exempt), depending on experience and qualifications

  • Health insurance

  • Disability insurance

  • Approximately three weeks of paid time off, plus major holidays

  • Simple IRA retirement plan with employer contribution

  • Opportunity for annual bonus

  • Supportive, team-oriented culture with a strong emphasis on professional development and work–life balance
