Our client is a well-known brand looking for a Staff Accountant to join their corporate finance team in Portland. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this position is a cornerstone for the daily financial operations of the company. Job Duties

• Reconcile General Ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
• Assist the Accounts Payable team with invoice processing, payment preparation, and other essential AP functions.
• Manage sales representative sample transactions to track and record inventory movements.
• Perform daily cash reconciliations and record monthly accounting entries to keep financial records current.
• Execute assigned month-end close duties, ensuring all deadlines are met with high accuracy.
• Apply standard accounting principles and company policies to all daily tasks and special projects.
• Process and analyze high volumes of data to support business decision-making and logical recommendations.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including comfort with Vlookups, pivot tables, advanced sorting, and external references.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent analytical capabilities and a logical approach to problem-solving.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for effective team collaboration.
• A sense of urgency and high attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.
