Experienced Tax Staff - Tax Senior

DESCRIPTION

This role is integral to the firm, offering opportunities to develop skills such as reviewing work of other tax staff, providing constructive feedback, and preparing returns. The Tax Senior will collaborate with Tax Managers and Shareholders on projects, gaining exposure to complex tax issues and learning to resolve them. It is a developmental role aimed at preparing the Tax Senior for advancement to Tax Manager.

Responsibilities

Client Management

  • Complete corporation and pass-through entity returns, including family-owned or privately held entities
  • Develop a strong understanding of clients’ businesses and industries
  • Manage competing priorities and communicate effectively to ensure excellent client service

Engagement Management

  • Communicate internally and externally to manage expectations and keep projects on track
  • Mentor and motivate engagement staff, providing technical guidance as needed
  • Encourage teamwork and innovation to enhance service quality

Professional Development

  • Show technical curiosity for ongoing growth
  • Ask questions to deepen understanding of clients and returns
  • Multitask effectively and communicate with team members

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of public accounting experience, preferably in a large firm or Big 4; experience in a paperless environment is a plus
  • Experience with high-net-worth individual returns and trust/estate returns preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • High integrity and trustworthiness
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
