Our client, a growing North American manufacturer specializing in industrial automation and packaging systems, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support its expanding operations. The organization designs and produces highly engineered equipment solutions and is positioned for continued growth as it broadens its product portfolio and market presence.
Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data. This position is responsible for day-to-day and month-end accounting activities, with a strong emphasis on accounts receivable, customer billing/invoicing, collections and maintenance of the client data base in SAP.
Working closely with the Controller and accounting team, this individual will help maintain effective internal controls, support audit requirements, and generate both recurring and ad hoc financial reports. The role requires strong system proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to interact professionally with both customers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Manage billing, invoicing, collections, and customer account reconciliation
- Minimize past-due balances and support proactive collection efforts
- Maintain and update customer records within the accounting system (SAP)
- Administer customer portals including payment processing, purchase orders, invoicing, and compliance documentation
- Complete Accounts Receivable reconciliations on an ongoing basis
- Provide documentation and schedules for annual financial review or audit
- Provide overflow support for other accounting team members
- Prepare financial reports and respond to internal data requests
- Compose professional business correspondence
- Support departmental initiatives and special projects
- Perform additional accounting-related duties as assigned
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable and collections; manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong general ledger and transactional accounting experience
- Experience with SAP is required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Professional communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing setting
- Familiarity with job costing and project-based accounting
- Experience assisting with software implementations
