Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a dynamic non-profit organization in Portland, Oregon. In this contract role, you will play a pivotal part in managing financial operations across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance in day-to-day accounting tasks. If you have a strong background in accounting and enjoy working in a collaborative environment, this opportunity is for you.

Responsibilities:

- Process and review Accounts Payable transactions to ensure timely and accurate payments.

- Handle Accounts Receivable tasks, including billing, collections, and resolving discrepancies.

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.

- Assist with audit preparation by organizing and providing necessary documentation.

- Maintain accurate records and reconcile accounts across multiple entities.

- Collaborate on intercompany transactions to ensure proper accounting and compliance.

- Support month-end close processes by preparing schedules and reviewing financial statements.

- Monitor and address tax-related matters, including corporate and sales tax filings.

- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support organizational decision-making. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax and sales tax processes.

- Familiarity with preparing and filing corporate tax returns.

- Proficiency in handling journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.

- Strong analytical skills to ensure accuracy in financial data.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks across a multi-entity organization.

- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

- Knowledge of audit preparation and compliance requirements.

- A degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
