Accounting Manager

A well-established Portland-area organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to step into a high-impact role within a growing and evolving finance team. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys strengthening processes, building structure, and expanding leadership responsibility in a mission-driven, operationally complex environment.

The organization is actively refining systems, modernizing workflows, and investing in stronger financial operations. The Accounting Manager will be a key partner within a collaborative Finance & Accounting team responsible for core financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, and compliance functions.

This role reports to a forward-thinking finance leader who values mentorship, continuous improvement, and strong accounting discipline, while empowering the team to operate efficiently and with accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Leadership

• Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Manage general ledger activity and maintain strong internal controls and data integrity
• Lead and review accounts receivable processes

Technical & Advanced Accounting

• Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and related reporting
• Prepare and review complex and non-routine journal entries in compliance with accounting standards

Process Improvement & Collaboration

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support evolving financial and operational needs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA preferred
• Strong experience with general ledger management, reconciliations, and fixed assets
• Experience leading, mentoring, or supervising others
• Proficiency with modern, cloud-based accounting systems

$110,000 - $120,000
