Overview

Accounts Payable Manager – part of Support Services, reporting to the Finance team. The Accounts Payable Manager oversees the full accounts payable function, ensuring accurate, timely processing while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance. This role leads and mentors the A/P team, partners closely with Accounting and Finance leadership during month- and year-end close, and identifies opportunities to improve processes to support the firm’s growth.

The position is in Portland, OR.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full cycle accounts payable duties in a team setting
  • Perform and manage vendor maintenance including invoice processing, statement reconciliation, and filing
  • Process and manage employee expense reports for payment, including auditing for adherence to company policies
  • Lead the A/P month-end close and year-end close and appropriate regulatory filings; assist with GL month and year-end close
  • Supervise A/P staff, including approving timecards and vacation requests, annual performance reviews, hiring new staff, and mentoring/retaining the A/P team
  • Reconcile various accounts by identifying errors or omissions using appropriate accounting standards
  • Prepare, review, and analyze AP aging and other AP reports
  • Reconcile all general ledger accounts
  • Provide monthly narrative analysis of significant financial variances to budget and forecast
  • Work to improve processes within assigned accounting functions
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of accounts payable or GL accounting experience
  • 2+ years of recent experience managing staff
  • Computer knowledge:
    Microsoft Office Suite including strong Excel skills and 10-key, general ledger
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics SL Accounting System
  • Concur Expense and Concur Invoice or other automated AP software
  • Experience working in the A/E/C industry
