Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This is a contract opportunity with a direct client of Aprio.

Contract duration: 6-9 months minimum (Could go longer term and possibly convert full-time)

Location: Portland, OR (100% ON-SITE)

Company type: Private

Hourly rate: $45 - $55/hr

Summary

This is an onsite Senior Accountant role supporting a small, privately held e-commerce company that is a well established business. This is to replace an employee out on personal leave. The focus is continuity, accuracy, and ownership of day-to-day accounting processes in a lean environment.

What You’ll Own
  • Review and reconcile general ledger activity and balances
  • Perform bank reconciliations and process daily bank journal entries
  • Monitor cash flow and manage bank accounts
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and support payroll-related activities
  • Reconcile and remit monthly state sales tax filings
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for tax accountants
  • HR duties including benefits administration, monitoring insurance bills, handling PTO, OFLA, FMLA, supporting performance reviews, and serving as a point of contact for state employment agency inquiries. (Employee headcount is approx. 20)
  • Support year-end close using established internal checklists
  • Review open purchase orders and support inventory-related accounting processes
Must-Haves
  • Senior-level accounting experience in a small or mid-sized environment
  • Hands-on experience using Net Suite
  • Experience supporting inventory accounting and inventory-related reconciliations
  • Strong general ledger and bank reconciliation background
  • Hands-on payroll processing experience (Approx. 20 employees)
  • Strong Excel and Word skills
  • Comfort operating independently with minimal hand-holding
  • Ability to work onsite full-time, Monday through Friday
