Cash Applications Specialist - Temporary Duration
Our client, a well-known organization in NW Portland, is seeking a detail‑oriented Cash Application Specialist to join their corporate accounting team. This position supports a wide range of general accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, month‑end close activities, and report distribution. The ideal candidate will manage the day‑to‑day accounting transactions within the general ledger and ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
This role is anticipated to extend through August at a minimum, with the potential for conversion to a permanent position.
Base pay range$23.00/hr - $25.00/hr
Key Responsibilities- Review and process journal entry requests from a shared mailbox; ensure timely and accurate posting.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Execute standard and recurring journal entries as part of the month‑end close process.
- Provide high‑level customer service to internal teams across the organization.
- Download and distribute monthly financial reports to management.
- Assist with ad‑hoc projects and provide support during audits, including gathering required documentation.
- Communicate proactively with management regarding workload and deadlines.
- Offer administrative support for the accounting/dealer management system (CDK).
- Associate’s Degree or certification in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact effectively across departments.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, especially in high‑volume and fast‑paced environments.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
