Hemex is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team. Working with the CFO and company management, this position will own and support all aspects of the accounting function. This hands‑on role will be a critical member of a cross‑functional team working closely with executive leaders in an exciting, high‑impact global health company.
Role DescriptionThis is a full‑time, on‑site (with a hybrid option) role based in Portland, OR.
- Own the monthly consolidated financial statement preparation.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Ensure payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure accounts payable are reviewed, approved, properly accounted for, and paid in a timely manner.
- Assist the CFO in building annual budgeting plans and mid‑year forecast updates.
- Prepare journal entries and conduct balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Review and monitor cash balances and assist with cash flow projections.
- Support the CFO in managing banking operations and internal controls over writing checks and approving wire transfers.
- Work with the CFO to identify and implement accounting system continuous improvement plans.
- File accurate and timely tax returns with the help of outside CPA.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- 3+ years’ experience as an Accounting Manager.
- 3+ years of experience with Quick Books.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent Microsoft 365 skills with advanced Excel proficiency.
- Solid understanding of internal controls.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, juggle priorities, and work flexible hours to support international operations and key deadlines.
- Curious and motivated learner.
- Outstanding communication skills to work effectively with all levels within the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated expertise in financial analysis.
- Group medical and dental plans (partially funded by Hemex).
