Through the collection and resale of gently used goods we provide the financial support needed to assist men and women with a variety of social and spiritual afflictions. The in‑residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities: every man or woman is given a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction.

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Sales and Production Associate to work in a production store and perform a wide variety of duties in the store and the production area. The associate will maintain order, create and sustain a pleasant and hospitable work environment, and maintain customer relationships.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assist in creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships.
  • Assist, as required, with store operations.
  • Serve all customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Handle all donations with care and donors with respect and courtesy.
  • Handle merchandise as directed, always maintaining proper categories and colorization.
  • Ensure that the store is sufficiently stocked and "ragged out" in accordance with the ARC COMMAND RAG OUT CALENDAR.
  • Assist in cleaning and general maintenance of store property.
  • Immediately report theft, customer complaints, injuries, and any unsafe equipment or conditions to management.
  • Maintain a clean and clutter‑free work area.
  • Be well‑versed in and comply with the Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Center Operations manual.
  • This position will support the work‑therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing to beneficiaries an example of professional conduct, work habits, and supervision (as directed by Supervisor).
  • Other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor, Store Supervisor, Assistant Store Supervisor, and/or Administrator.
  • Cashier/Sales Floor:
    Comply with all cash handling and security standards as related to cash register operations, daily sales reports and bank deposits.
  • Sort, price, stock and "rag out" showcase merchandise and other areas as directed.
  • Restock fitting‑room merchandise back to racks in proper category and color code.
  • Maintain merchandise displays as directed.
  • Answer telephone calls in an efficient, friendly, professional manner.
  • Sorter:
    Sort a minimum of 300 store quality garments an hour by department.
  • Assist moving the donations to the sorting table as needed.
  • Assist with hanging merchandise as needed.
  • Assist running clothing racks as needed.
  • Hanger/Tagger:
    Hang and ticket a minimum of 225 pieces per hour of clothing on rolling racks from the sorting table by department on the correct hanger type, and by category in an 8‑hour period.
  • Priser:
    Price a minimum of 250 garments an hour using a wide range of prices determined by the style, quality and condition of each piece.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of name‑brand merchandise and value.
  • Runner:
    Place a minimum of 225 garments an hour from the production room to the sales floor on the proper rack by department, category and color order.
  • Straighten and maintain the clothing racks of the departments as assigned.
  • Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.
  • Bric a Brac:
    Sort and clean all saleable miscellaneous merchandise donations daily; ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item; place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner; rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.
  • Shoes/Accessories:
    Sort and clean all saleable shoes, handbags and accessory donations daily; ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item; process to the store a minimum…
