An experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Operating Room care is needed to support surgical teams in a busy Level One Trauma Center. This role focuses on Gynecology and Genitourinary procedures, offering a dynamic environment that requires skilled nursing practice and a calm, efficient approach in high-stress situations. The position is contract-based and located in Portland, ME.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of Level 1 Trauma experience
  • Competency in robotic surgery using DaVinci Xi system
  • Proficient in procedures such as PCNLs, nephrectomies, ureteral reimplants, hysterectomies, cystectomies, colpocleisis, hysteroscopies, and ureteroscopies
  • CNOR certification preferred
  • Experience with a diverse patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate flexibility and accountability
Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert surgical nursing care in Gynecology and Genitourinary operations
  • Utilize advanced equipment including Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive Robot systems
  • Maintain patient safety and optimize outcomes in a high-acuity trauma setting
  • Participate in trauma call rotations and specialty team call as applicable
  • Deliver care adhering to established hospital policies and standards, including Epic EMR documentation
Schedule/Hours:
  • 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM day shifts
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • Weekend rotation approximately 1 in 4 weekends with 12-hour shifts
  • One overnight trauma call (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM) when scheduled
