- Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry / Cardiac & Thoracic focus (Travel RN)
- Location: Portland, ME 04102 – Experience the vibrant coastal city of Portland, Maine, renowned for its arts, dining, and outdoor recreation.
- Setting: Med/Surg Telemetry Unit (Cardiac & Thoracic recovery)
- Contract Type: Travel (26 weeks; 13‑week contracts considered)
- Start Date: March 15, 2026
- End Date: September 12, 2026
- Shift: Night Shift – 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (12‑hour nights)
- Hours per Week: 36 (48 preferred; 36 accepted)
- Weekend Requirement: Every to every other weekend
- Unit Size: 36 beds
- Patient Ratio: 1:5 (night shift)
- EMR: Epic
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,200 - $2,320 per week
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of assignment)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
- Strong cardiac telemetry skills;
Cardiac Telemetry RN experience preferred - Comfortable floating to other Med/Surg units as needed
- Completion of hospital onboarding modules (assigned on Day
1) - Preferred:
Experience with cardiac surgery (CABG, valve replacement, post aortic dissection repair), thoracic surgery (VATS, wedge resection, lobectomy), chest tubes, temporary epicardial pacemakers, and post‑TAVR care - Preferred:
Familiarity with cardiac medications (amiodarone, insulin, dobutamine, nitro, milrinone, diltiazem)
- Deliver high‑quality nursing care to patients on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit specializing in cardiac and thoracic surgery recovery
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, recognize arrhythmias, and respond to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, respiratory therapy, and case management
- Administer medications and manage complex cardiac drips as appropriate
- Provide care for patients with chest tubes, temporary epicardial pacemakers, and other post‑surgical needs
- Float to other Med/Surg units as required and assist with clinical support across the floor
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic EMR
- Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and a positive attitude in a fast‑paced environment
