HR Manager - Portland, Maine — Temp-to-Perm Opportunity | $40 - $60/hour DOE

A well-established company in Portland, Maine is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join their team in a temp-to-perm capacity. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a hands-on role with direct impact on talent acquisition, employee engagement, and HR operations.

• Recruiting & Talent Acquisition:
  Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding for positions across the organization
• Employee Relations:
  Serve as primary point of contact for employee concerns, performance management, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation
• Payroll Support:
  Partner with payroll processing to ensure accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that support company culture and legal compliance
• Manage employee lifecycle from onboarding through exit interviews
• Maintain HRIS systems and employee records with accuracy and confidentiality
• Support benefits administration and open enrollment processes
• Advise management on HR best practices, employment law, and organizational development

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience with strong recruiting background
• Proven track record in employee relations and conflict resolution
• Experience supporting or managing payroll processes
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification a plus

• Competitive hourly rate: $40 - $60/hour based on experience
