Albin, Randall & Bennett (ARB), a full-service public accounting, tax, and advisory firm based in Portland, Maine, is seeking a strategic and self-driven Human Resources Manager to lead our human resources (HR) initiatives, contribute to our positive workplace culture, and champion our greatest asset - our people.
As the HR Manager:You will play a key role in shaping the employee experience and driving the firm’s talent acquisition and retention strategy. This is a dynamic, high-impact position ideally suited for a self-starter who thrives in both strategic and hands-on roles. You’ll work closely with firm leadership and employees to deliver results across HR benefits, talent acquisition, and employee relations.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute strategic HR initiatives aligned with the firm’s short and long-term business objectives.
- Lead the implementation of and champion the success of a new HRIS.
- Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, posting, interviewing, and hiring top talent.
- Lead and continuously improve the firm’s onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure seamless employee experience.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
- Partner with firm leadership to manage employee relations and foster a positive, inclusive, and high performing workplace.
- Manage and administer employee benefits programs to support employee satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with our Controller to administer payroll.
- Maintain accurate and confidential HR records in accordance with legal and organization standards.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, employee engagement, and team collaboration
- Demonstrated experience in HR compliance and talent acquisition.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast paced, professional environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and courteous demeanor
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving needs
- Strong technology skills/aptitude
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
- 8+ years of human resource management
- SHRM-CP
- Proficiency in Microsoft office and online recruiting tools
