Hours: 32‑40 hours per week

Compensation: $7.55 per hour + tips (at least $15.10 per hour)

Housing: $150 per week

Host Company Description

The host company is a conveniently-located chain hotel near the Portland, Maine airport. Portland is known for its Historic Old Port, with its cobbled streets, eclectic shops, and a “foodie” walking tour! The town is surrounded by lighthouses, offers outdoor activities at several beaches, and features ferries to nearby islands. For cultural experiences, visit the Portland Museum of Art, the Portland Observatory, and the Wadsworth‑Longfellow House.

Position

Description
  • Learn all aspects of food service in a boutique hotel environment.
  • Aid in upholding the highest quality standards for the food and beverage operation.
  • Understand menu content, any menu changes, and promotional activities.
  • Advance management skills and supervisory duties.
  • To apply for the Internship program, applicants must be hospitality or restaurant management undergraduate/graduate students OR be recent graduates who begin the program within 12 months of their graduation date.
  • To apply for the Trainee program, applicants must have either a degree or professional certificate from a foreign post‑secondary academic institution and at least 1 year of prior related work experience in the restaurant management or culinary arts field acquired outside the United States OR 5+ years of experience in this field.
  • Applicants must speak ADVANCED ENGLISH, have a positive attitude, and the ability to communicate with clients and hotel associates.
