Interim Director of Benefits Needed in Portland, ME!
The Position- An Interim Director of Benefits is needed to lead the strategy and execution of system-wide employee benefits programs during a transitional period.
- Reporting to the Vice President of HR Shared Services, this leader will oversee four direct reports.
- Key responsibilities include leading the rollout of a new Paid Family and Medical Leave program, integrating benefits for a newly acquired hospital, and overseeing vendor relationships and system-wide benefits communication.
- The ideal candidate will have deep experience in employee benefits within large, complex organizations, along with strong project management skills and proven vendor management expertise. Must be highly organized, and able to adapt quickly to changing needs. Excellent communication skills will be critical.
- Must be available to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred. - CEBS or SPHR certification preferred.
- Significant experience in employee benefits and health plans, with prior leadership in a healthcare or similarly complex environment, required.

- Compensation Range: $155,000 to $165,000 annually.
- The final compensation rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations, in accordance with Fair Market Value evaluation. Additionally, some candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, depending on the specific role, including but not limited to health insurance coverage and retirement benefits.
