The Patient Representative - Emergency Department plays a critical role in supporting the fastpaced and high impact environment of the Emergency Department. As a key member of the care team "hub," this position ensures that patients receive timely, coordinated, and compassionate support throughout their emergency care experience.
In this role, you will provide essential administrative and patient-facing services that keep the department running smoothly while supporting clinical staff and contributing to a positive patient experience.
Schedule- Shift: Nights )
- Hours: Two 12hour shifts per week
- Scheduling: Rotating dates, but always night shift
- Weekends: Every 3rd weekend required
- Note: This position does not follow a set weekly schedule
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responding promptly to patient call bells
- Arranging EMS transports as requested by clinical staff
- Initiating provider consults and communicating updates as needed
- Answering incoming calls, including callers requesting to speak with patients in the Emergency Department
- Supporting the overall workflow of the Emergency Department team to ensure efficient, patient-centered care
