Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consulting firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV. The firm seeks a civil engineer with a technical focus on structural engineering and/or site (civil) design for substations and power delivery facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Structural engineering responsibilities: develop design criteria, design standard shape steel structures, tubular steel structures, fire walls, foundations (drilled pier, shallow/pad, spread footing). Apply design tools such as Visual Analysis, STAAD.Pro, RISA, LPILE, MFAD, and CAISSON.
  • Site (civil) engineering responsibilities: development of design criteria, grading & drainage design, access road design, retaining/perimeter walls, fences, gates, storm‑water drawings, hydrology study specification and interpretation. Preferred use of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Project‑management functions (as required): scoping, budgeting, scheduling, team leadership, monitoring & control, client interface, project reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organization and planning, team orientation, commitment to quality, accuracy and fast‑paced schedules.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, standards and design tools.
  • PE license preferred.
