Your OpportunityStantec’s New England Transportation group is looking for a talented, team focused Transportation Engineer to join our practice in Portland, ME! Stantec’s has an immediate need for a Transportation Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in roadway/highway design and pedestrian/bicycle facility design. Task management experience is a plus and more experienced individuals are encouraged to apply as there is flexibility in this position.
This position is for an individual looking to challenge themselves on a variety of transportation projects in the region.
As a Transportation Engineer, you will join a growing team of transportation professionals and play a lead role in the highway design component of large and small roadway and bridge projects throughout Maine and New England.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Design roadways in accordance with AASHTO and Maine
DOT specifications and CADD Standards using Microstation and InRoads/Open Roads. - Develop and oversee design plans and calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.
- Prepare engineering reports and technical studies such as design memos, feasibility studies, and concept design reports.
- Collaborate with team members, other disciplines and offices, and sub-consultants.
- Perform field investigations and construction phase services support.
- Interact with and present project designs to clients, agencies, and the public.
- Thorough understanding of project tasks within the overall project schedule, budgeting and available resources.
- Provide guidance to influence, mentor and train team members with positive growth-oriented perspective.
