Description
Reporting to the Director of the UNE Student Access Center, the Administrative Coordinator is a professional staff position responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Student Access Department team, made up of a Senior Administrative Coordinator (Biddeford), two Student Access Center Coordinators (Biddeford & Portland) and the Student Access Center Director. Primarily supporting the Portland campus, this is a key position in the department that requires a hands-on team player with exceptional customer service skills.
The Administrative is responsible for the well-organized and logistically planned out daily operations of the Student Access team in Portland.

- Serve as an integral member of the Student Access Center team, providing informed guidance to students applying for ADA accommodations.
- Triage student accommodation requests and route them to the appropriate Student Access Coordinators.
- Coordinate daily operations of the Student Access Test Center, including exam scheduling and proctoring support.
- Act as the primary Student Access Center proctor, ensuring a secure and supportive testing environment.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records, files, and testing data, including ongoing reporting.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, and professional staff, responding to inquiries with professionalism and clarity.
- Effectively manage high-stress situations using strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures related to Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Collaborate with campus partners to support students who self-identify as having a disability.
- Work closely with internal departments to advance the University’s mission and deliver a high level of service to students and faculty.
- Associate’s degree in an appropriate discipline plus 3 to 4 years of relevant clerical and administrative experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences including UNE faculty, professional staff, students and family members
- Good planning, administrative and organizational skills; writing, math and basic research skills.
- Good typing/word processing and other general office skills.
- Previous experience in organizing and maintaining moderately complex filing and record-keepings systems, including relevant experience with computerized information systems.
- Good general understanding of higher education organizational structure and administrative operations.
- Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of individuals inside and outside of the University.
- Ability to work independently.
