Our client is a top financial institution with significant North American holdings. They have operations across most major verticals, including institutional & corporate, wealth management, private client, commercial banking, treasury, and retail banking.
Introduction: Robertson is seeking a skilled UX Designer III (Design Researcher) to join our client in support of an existing vacancy.
Contract Period: 6 months with potential to extend or convert
Pay Rate: Starting from $60 per hour
Location: Portland, ME
Location Type: Remote but possibility of going into office

Hours:
Monday to Friday; 9AM to 5PM
- Collaboration: working with service design directors, designers, and business stakeholders to understand and support their research needs; maintain and build relationships across various stakeholder groups; support Research team members as required
- Research road mapping: working with Design, Content, Product, and Business stakeholders to determine study priorities and timelines, and bring visibility to the road map for research activities
- Research design: defining research questions, creating the research approach and participant recruitment plan, and selecting appropriate methods of data collection and analysis
- Research preparation: creation of participant screeners; recruiting from internal employee panels or working with vendors to recruit external participants; creating research protocols
- Data collection: conducting design research methods including observation/ethnography, diary studies, user interviews, usability testing, card sorting, etc.
- Analysis: utilizing qualitative and quantitative approaches to make sense of the data collected
- Reporting: translating findings into easily understandable insights used to drive ideation and inform design, in diverse formats including experience maps, usability test reports, personas, etc.
- 5+ years of expereince in project management, user research and evaluation
- 2 to 3 years of experience using Figma
- Deep foundational knowledge of and experience conducting User-Centered Design and Human Factors research methods, including usability testing, interviews (users and stakeholders), workshop facilitation, and insights synthesis
- Strong communications skills (written, oral, and graphical) to identify and craft valid and impactful insights for Design and Business partners
- Strong project management skills with ability to balance tasks spanning multiple studies and create future study road maps
- Knowledge of inferential statistics and familiarity with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS)
- Strong collaborative skills across multiple groups including Research, Design, and Business partners
- Undergraduate degree in psychology, anthropology, computer science, industrial engineering, human factors, human-computer interaction or a related field
