The OpportunityWe are seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting operations for the corporate entity and the Microwave Technologies division of The Elmet Group.
This position is responsible for overseeing the accuracy and integrity of financial records, managing the month-end close process, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and financial controls. The Accounting Manager will also supervise the Accounting Assistant and support key financial reporting and operational accounting activities.
The ideal candidate enjoys leading processes, maintaining strong financial discipline, and helping ensure accounting operations run smoothly in a growing organization. You will work closely with internal leadership and external partners to support reporting, compliance, and financial operations.
What You’ll DoThis role provides an opportunity to oversee critical financial processes and contribute to the operational strength of the accounting function.
Manage Accounting Operations- Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate closing of the corporate and Microwave Technologies books
- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations
- Implement and maintain financial controls and accounting procedures
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records and supporting documentation
- Supervise the Accounting Assistant and oversee the accounts payable function
- Provide guidance and support to ensure accounting processes are completed accurately and efficiently
- Support the development of processes and workflows that improve accounting operations
- Prepare ad hoc monthly financial reports as requested
- Support external audits, tax preparation, and other third-party financial reviews
- Manage sales and use tax filings and personal property tax returns
- Manage debt compliance programs and related financial reporting requirements
- Maintain banking relationships and manage banking systems
- Oversee the corporate credit card program and related reporting
- Manage the commercial insurance policy program, including annual audits
- Support the customer collections process and monitor outstanding receivables
- Participate in financial and operational improvement initiatives
- Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5–8 years of accounting experience
- Experience supervising or managing accounting staff
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting software (Sage experience a plus)
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of internal controls and financial compliance practices
