Stancold are looking to strengthen our growing Commercial Department with the addition of an experienced Quantity Surveyor.
About Stancold
Based in Bristol and employing approximately 40 people, Stancold specialises in the expert design and build of composite and insulated panel systems for internal industrial applications across the UK, working primarily across the food & beverage, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and industrial partitioning sectors.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established specialist contractor and play a key role in delivering projects while driving strong commercial performance.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will manage subcontracts ranging from £5k to £5m, applying robust commercial controls to administer budgets and costs in line with contractual obligations. You will add value through effective change management and ensure commercial principles are upheld throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Reviewing contracts and negotiating favourable terms
* Cost control and budgeting to ensure the supply chain is engaged within allowances
* Monthly project valuations to capture completed works
* Capturing change and issuing variations
* Maintaining excellent commercial relationships at all levels
* Supporting operations with contractual administration
* Visiting sites to value works and assess works outside of scope
* Conducting regular project reviews to monitor cost vs value
* Agreeing final accounts with relevant counterparts
About You
We are looking for a commercially astute and detail-driven professional who can operate confidently within a fast-paced project environment.
You will have:
* A process-orientated mindset with strong attention to detail
* A proven track record of delivery within the construction industry
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage workload effectively
* Experience working with JCT and NEC4 contracts
* A Degree in Quantity Surveying or a Construction HND/HNC
* The ability to work independently and prioritise effectively
