PTA-Physical Therapist Assistant Part-Time (Healthcare)

  • Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist, recording daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board standards.
  • Assist in maintaining the department and participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences as needed.
  • Help with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area.
  • Follow physician treatment plans when treating patients.
  • Assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides.
  • Communicate patient progress, problems, and plans with supervisors and other health team members.
  • Participate in in-service training programs for staff.
  • Record treatment changes according to policies and procedures.
  • Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training for discharge preparation.
  • Report equipment issues to ensure proper maintenance.
  • Maintain positive and effective relationships with patients, families, staff, and colleagues.
  • Note:

    This position is not supervisory.
  • Qualifications
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including programs like Casamba and Point Click Care.
  • Ability to read and understand technical procedures, policies, and manuals.
  • Effective communication skills with managers, coworkers, and families.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Strong reasoning skills to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
  • Must meet continuing education requirements and maintain licensure in good standing.
  • Physical Demands
  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, talking, and hearing.
  • Frequent tasting and smelling.
  • Ability to exert force up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Good visual perception, including focus adjustment.
  • Work Environment
  • Work typically occurs in a low to moderate noise environment.
