JOB SUMMARY:
The Consumer Collections Specialist is responsible for communicating effectively and professionally while handling incoming/outgoing calls and written communication from/to customers for delinquent consumer loans and overdrawn demand deposit accounts. Analyzes and remedies internal and external customer issues promptly, efficiently, and within established guidelines. Performs tasks accurately to the benefit of the company and our customers. Responsible for keeping management up to date on any significant situations that could cause harm to the company.
Develops and enhances positive and professional relationships with borrowers.
- Communicate with customers who are in a delinquent status via telephone, mail, and email
- Assists customers with payment method options, including electronic payment processing
- Ensures individual inbound/outbound calls are made in a professional manner
- Maintains complete and accurate documentation, including thorough notation of all communications with the customer or authorized parties
- Prepares status worksheets, charge-offs, and outside collections reporting
- Prepares demand letters as needed
- Review the status of bankruptcy cases and complete proof of claim for such cases
- Completes outgoing/incoming telephone communications with customers
- Responsible for electronic payment processing and repayment plan setup
- Notifies supervisor or manager of any significant situation that may cause harm or loss to the company
- Takes personal initiative in following all policies, procedures, and regulations
- Provides the highest level of customer service to all customers and internal departments
- Assists and supports other staff as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
High school diploma or equivalent required. At least 1-2 years of related experience is required.
