** Quality Assurance Technician
** at our
** Portage la Prairie, MB
** location. A Quality Assurance technician is responsible for ensuring raw material, in-process blends and finished products meet food safety and quality requirements.
** Responsibilities:
*** Gather product samples within the manufacturing environment
* Conduct inspection & testing on finished product according to specifications
* Analyze product for characteristics such as moisture, weight, water hydration and particle size and apply all test information into the database
* Initiate, communicate and track all product non-conformances to the specification
* Create and release certificates of analysis for all customers upon request
* Collect retained samples and maintain quality & food safety parameters
* Other duties as assigned
*
* Qualifications:
*** Grade 12 or equivalent
* Excellent computer, written, documentation and verbal communication skills
* Must be willing to work day and night shifts, as well as overtime
* Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is an asset
