Overview
Psychologist – Testing & Counseling Services –
Location:
Portage, MI |
Schedule:
Full-Time | Compensation: $100,000–$120,000
Looking to make a lasting impact through psychological assessment and evidence-based care? Our client, a leading provider of psychological and neuropsychological services across West Michigan, is seeking a licensed (or license-eligible)
Psychologist to join their high-referral practice. This is an opportunity to combine comprehensive psychological testing with meaningful follow-up counseling, all within a collegial and mission-driven environment.
- Assessment & Evaluation
- Administer, score, and interpret a variety of empirically validated psychological and neuropsychological tests
- Evaluate attention, memory, executive functioning, processing speed, and more
- Establish cognitive baselines and monitor changes over time
- Integrate clinical interviews, records, and test data into clear diagnostic reports
- Deliver clinically actionable findings with concise, meaningful recommendations
- Client Care & Counseling
- Provide follow-up counseling informed by test results
- Facilitate structured feedback sessions with clients, families, and providers
- Develop treatment goals aligned with assessment outcomes
- Collaboration & Communication
- Coordinate with referring physicians, schools, and healthcare partners
- Ensure timely turnaround on evaluations and clear responses to referral questions
- Participate in interdisciplinary discussions as needed
- Professional Standards
- Maintain documentation in compliance with APA and state guidelines
- Uphold ethical, legal, and clinical standards of practice
- Stay current on assessment tools, research, and best practices
- PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (or related field)
- Licensed or license-eligible in Michigan
- Strong background in psychological/neuropsychological assessment
- Skilled in diagnostic formulation and clinical report writing
- Experience In Evidence-based Counseling Preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

- Experience with testing across the lifespan
- Prior work in integrated behavioral health, hospitals, or medical settings
- Knowledge of cognitive rehabilitation or treatment planning
- Robust referral base from trusted medical and community partners
- Admin support for scheduling, billing, and report coordination
- Autonomy to shape your caseload and clinical specialty
- Supportive, collegial team focused on quality care and growth
