Controller - Portage Area

Salary Range: $120,000 - $169,000 depending on experience

• Oversee all financial reporting, including month-end close, financial statement preparation, and regulatory filings.
• Manage and optimize cost accounting systems, including standard cost development, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and develop periodic financial forecasts and long-range plans.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
• Analyze financial performance, identify key trends, and provide strategic recommendations to management for operational improvements.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions to optimize liquidity and financial health.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other relevant legal and statutory requirements.

• Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with significant tenure in a manufacturing environment.
• Expertise in cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, and production variance analysis.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal control frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling for operational decision-making.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification highly preferred.

• Experience with advanced costing methodologies (e.g., Activity-Based Costing, Throughput Accounting) in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for operational and financial insights.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and their financial implications/measurement.
• Demonstrated success in financial modeling for capital expenditure justification and ROI analysis in a production setting.
