Controller, Finance & Banking, Financial Reporting

A great UHY client is seeking a Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience with percentage-of-completion accounting and a strong foundation in core controller responsibilities. This role requires a hands-on accounting leader who can support operational teams while ensuring accurate financial reporting.

The Controller role is an onsite position. This is a client direct hire role.

• Maintain accuracy of the general ledger, cost centers, and job cost systems
• Support monthly close activities, including journal entries and bank reconciliations
• Oversee and support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury-related activities
• Assist with inventory reconciliations and annual audit preparation
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and Work in Progress (WIP) reports
• Manage job cost entries, contract schedules, and percentage-of-completion calculations
• Support forecasting efforts and collaborate with project and group managers
• Provide financial analysis and accounting system support to senior leadership
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and operational information
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed
• Strong understanding of GAAP and controller-level accounting fundamentals
• Experience with job costing, contract accounting, and percentage-of-completion reporting
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis
• Experience preparing and analyzing WIP and backlog reports
• Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
• Familiarity with audit processes and working with external auditors
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
• High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
