As Electrical Senior Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for a wide variety of engineering work for new product development (NPD) of hospital beds and stretchers medical devices including concept development, prototype design, build and test, design changes, DFMEAs, and compliance testing to ensure successful product launch. You may support and conduct root cause analysis, verification and validation testing, manufacturing transfer activities, and component obsolescence management for existing products.
What You Will Do:Technical Responsibilities:
- Lead or mentor design and development of complex motor control circuits, ADC, and power supplies for new products.
- Conduct or design advanced prototyping and testing for motor control and high end power electronic circuits.
- May design and test high end battery modules.
- Conduct advanced problem solving, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against component and sub‑system requirements.
- Independently make design trade‑off decisions while designing multiple components of the system.
- Through the design process, you will design circuits including schematic capture, layout, and failure‑mode analysis for PCBA’s, cables, and other electromechanical components.
- Develop several invention disclosures, patents or trade secrets.
- Lead and guide in correction of complex product design issues.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 6+ years of related design experience.
- Strong knowledge & working experience of designing and testing Power MOSFETs, motor control, power supply topologies, ADCs, H‑bridge control and thermal management.
- Advanced understanding of electrical components like microcontrollers, power supplies, motor control designs and manufacturing methods including common failure modes.
- Knowledge of wired interface protocols, including I2C, UART, RS‑232, RS‑485, CAN, SPI, LVDS, Ethernet, and DRAM interfaces.
- Knowledge of wireless interface protocols, such as Bluetooth, BLE, RFID, and Wi‑Fi, including standards, requirements, and testing protocols.
- Experience working with suppliers on process improvements, test methods development (e.g., ICT, FCTs).
- Ability to work closely with software, mechanical, and electrical engineering disciplines to implement EMC best practices and execute testing at internal/external labs.
