Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a growing construction company while leveraging your expertise in accounting processes and systems. The role will require a hands-on approach to ad hoc projects and business as usual as they continue to go-live for new ERP.

Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.

- Prepare journal entries as needed.

- Reconcile accounts and bank statements to ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date.

- Work with job costing procedures and provide detailed reports to support operational decisions.

- Collaborate with the team to implement Sage Intacct and assist with data conversion tasks.

- Take ownership of ad hoc projects and administrative tasks to support the accounting team.

- Partner with various departments to streamline workflows and enhance financial reporting and data decemination.

- Ensure compliance with construction accounting standards and best practices.

- Support system implementation efforts, including mapping and training initiatives.

Requirements

- Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.

- Proficiency in Sage 300 and Sage Intacct systems.

- Preference for understanding of construction accounting principles and job costing.

- Ability to create and reconcile journal entries and bank statements.

- Experience with system implementation and data conversion.

- Excellent organizational and project management skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and adapt to dynamic environments.

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
