Staff Accountant
Position Overview
The Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization by ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with accounting standards. This role works closely with senior accounting team members and cross-functional partners to support month-end close, reconciliations, and financial analysis while developing strong technical accounting skills.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & AnalysisAssist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Support analysis of financial results, trends, and variances under the guidance of senior accounting staff
Provide data and support for budgeting and forecasting activities
Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure transactions are recorded accurately
Prepare account reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies
Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals
Ensure accounting activities comply with GAAP and internal policies
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to requests
Support documentation of accounting processes and controls
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to support accurate reporting
Assist with system testing, data validation, and reporting enhancements
Work with internal departments to gather financial information and resolve discrepancies
Provide accounting support and respond to routine financial inquiries
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
1–4 years of accounting or related finance experience
CPA eligible or working toward certification preferred
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP
Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
