Work Site Is In Normal, IL Summary Of Responsibilities
- Engineering Liaison must possess excellent communication skills to professionally interact with the customer, Camaco’s plants, Quality group, and the sort groups.
- Will sort product with minimal instruction.
- Will interpret quality alerts and give direction to the sort groups on how to perform required activities.
- Will travel off site for extended periods of time and possibly long workdays.
- Additional roles and responsibilities are established in the responsibility sections of the EMS Documentation.
- Initiate sorting for non-conforming material.
- Follow customer specific rules.
- Ensue quality documentation is complete at customer location.
- Communicate effectively with all personnel involved.
- Instruct and monitor sort group personnel in the checking of parts, quality documentation, and applicable procedures.
- Communication & Conflict Resolution:
You must serve as the primary link between different project stakeholders, requiring superior verbal and written skills to translate technical issues into actionable business reports. - Problem-Solving & Root Cause Analysis:
Ability to immediately analyze problems at the OEM facility, determine the root cause, and coordinate "sorting" or rework activities. - Pressure Management:
These roles often involve being "on call" and working under high pressure at the customer's plant level to prevent production line shutdowns. - Project Coordination:
Tracking project timelines and specifications to ensure the supplier's product fits the OEM's evolving vehicle requirements.
- Automotive Background: 3–5+ years of experience in automotive environment and product development, applications engineering, or quality control.
- Manufacturing Knowledge:
Deep understanding of Tier 1 supplier operations, automotive manufacturing processes, and validation methods. - Quality Standards:
Proficiency in quality management systems and standards like ISO 9001 or IATF 16949. - Analysis
Skills:
Basic structural analysis to propose minor design changes or "on-the-fly" fixes.

It may require domestic and occasional international travel for training or visiting Mexico manufacturing site. - Plant Presence:
Often requires working directly on the factory floor, which may involve physical inspections and audits.
Bachelor’s Degree:
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automotive Engineering.
English, bilingual Spanish helpful
