Joiner, Building Maintenance

We are currently recruiting a Joiner to work with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, based in Portadown.

Hours of work:

• Monday to Thursday: 8.30am - 4.30pm
• Friday: 8.30am - 4.00pm

Pay rate: £14.35 per hour

This is an initially temporary position, with the possibility of extension subject to job performance and service requirements.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will work as part of the Housing Executive maintenance team, travelling to Housing Executive properties to carry out a wide range of essential joinery, repair and refurbishment works. The role requires a flexible and professional approach to delivering high-quality workmanship within occupied and vacant properties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out general joinery maintenance and refurbishment works to Housing Executive properties.
• Install kitchens, doors, windows, flooring and associated fittings.
• Complete roofing-related joinery works including joists, trusses, slating and flat roofs.
• Operate tools and equipment safely and in line with health and safety requirements.
• Work alongside other trades and provide a professional service to tenants.

What We Need From You

• Successfully completed a Joinery apprenticeship
• Minimum 1 year's relevant experience in a Joinery environment
• Strong understanding of Health and Safety requirements
• Full, clean, UK driving licence
• Willing to undergo an Access NI police check
