We are seeking a passionate placement student to join our growing team at Octopus Energy's heat pump factory in Portadown, Northern Ireland.

As a Manufacturing placement student, you will play a crucial role with the use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.

What you will do:

• Hands on support to design and implement material presentation
• Study and refine manufacturing processes
• Design and build manufacturing aids/jigs
• Design and implementation of engineering systems and infrastructure
• Collaborate with cross functional teams, supporting problem solving investigations and the introduction of new products and processes
• Drive a continuous improvement ethic
• Process validation studies

What you will need:

• Currently enrolled on a university degree in a mechanical or manufacturing engineering and requiring a 12-month placement.
• Ability to be on-site every day at our Portadown heat pump factory ( 37.5
  
  Hrs )
• Good communication skills
• Clear and concise writing skills
• In depth knowledge of working with hand/power tools
