Cleaner Lead – ISS Facility Services – North America

Hourly Wage
: $16.75 per hour.

Monday – Friday and weekends, 8:00 am – 8:00 pm.

Key Purpose

The Lead Cleaner oversees daily cleaning tasks of the janitorial team while maintaining assigned areas such as offices, commercial spaces, industrial spaces, or institutional buildings. Successful collaboration with employees, clients, and all levels of the organization is expected. Responsibilities include following instructions and communicating effectively.

Success Criteria
  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
  • Solve minor cleaning issues.
  • Direct special cleaning projects.
  • Train new employees on cleaning procedures and chemicals.
  • Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
  • Take direction and respond to supervision.
  • Communicate with the team, co‑workers, managers, and customers professionally.
  • Fill in during staff shortage.
  • Support Cleaning Manager in completing punch‑list items.
  • Use proper personal protective equipment.
  • Present a professional appearance and conduct.
  • Understand reporting systems and the environment.

  • Always remember safety first.
  • Build respectful relationships with all teammates and guests.
  • Willingness to take directions from the Cleaning Supervisor/ Manager.
  • Coordinate activities with other internal departments.

  • Instill trust.
Ideal Candidate Experience
  • 2+ years of commercial janitorial experience.
  • Understand that safety is a top priority and comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Must be a team player and committed to working in a fast‑paced, quality environment.
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills.
  • Bilingual (English/ Spanish) is a plus.
Key Accountabilities
  • Direct special cleaning projects.
  • Support and train new cleaners.
  • Stocking and inventorying supply closets.
  • Vacuuming.
  • Edging.
  • Dusting.
  • Cleaning and stocking restrooms and breakrooms.
  • Window cleaning.
  • Emptying trash and transporting to proper disposal area.
  • Sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Assist Cleaning Manager with day‑to‑day operations.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Stand 33% of the time.
  • Walk >66% of the time.
  • Sit and use hands to finger, handle, rub, grip, and feel.
  • Reach above shoulders.
  • Push/pull and grasp with hands and arms 33–50% of the time.
