Dispatcher/Customer Service position at Guardian Fleet Services

Note: This is an on-site role located in Port Wentworth, GA with Day and Night shifts available.

Overview

We are looking for a professional and reliable dispatcher to join our team and act as the company’s first point of contact for emergency and non-emergency calls. The dispatcher will maintain call logs, monitor routes, transfer messages, and direct tow truck drivers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service excellence with each and every call.
  • Politely answer emergency and non-emergency calls and document important information.
  • Respond to issues and follow up by coordinating with appropriate departments or field units.
  • Operate and manage a multi-line telephone console system.
  • Direct tow truck drivers to locations according to schedules, ETAs, customer requests, or immediate needs; supervise routes by GPS when needed.
  • Prioritize and organize calls according to urgency.
  • Provide customers with pricing information and respond to queries.
  • Maintain records and process customer payments.
  • Maintain records pertaining to work requests, customer requests, charges, expenses, and inventory; ensure information is organized and accessible for supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to answer multiple phone calls in a busy setting
  • Professional demeanor and phone etiquette
  • Ability to address problems and provide information or solutions to the team
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Accurate data entry; computer literate
  • Knowledge of Tow book software a plus
  • Ability to work days, nights, and weekends as needed
Physical Requirements

Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing on a telephone and computer for extended periods. Routine sitting at a desk and viewing a display screen. Ability to input and retrieve information from a computer or electronic device. Moderate lifting up to 40 pounds. Walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, stooping, reaching, twisting, and bending. Good hearing and vision.
