Our recruiting firm is partnered with a growing manufacturing organization in Port Washington, WI to identify a skilled Project Engineer. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity supporting new product launches, tooling implementation, and engineering changes within a high-precision production environment.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-driven, and comfortable leading project activities from concept through launch while collaborating with engineering, tooling, production, and customer teams.
Position OverviewThe Project Engineer will oversee part and tool launches using the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and internal quality expectations. This role involves coordinating timelines, communicating project status to customers, and maintaining project data and standards.
Project Engineer Responsibilities- Lead new business projects, engineering changes and tooling replacements
- Manage APQP activities ensuring project milestones and deliverables are met
- Develop and maintain project timelines based on resource availability and capacity
- Provide weekly customer updates and maintain strong communication throughout each project
- Track project metrics and contribute to the improvement of engineering standards and systems
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction
- Escalate issues promptly to ensure timely resolution
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field OR a minimum of 5 years of Project Engineering experience
- Experience in stamping, fabrication or related manufacturing environments preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications
- Working knowledge of Gantt charts and project management tools
- Ability to read blueprints; familiarity with GD&T preferred
- Exposure to 3D CAD systems (Solid Works preferred) is helpful but not required
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with APQP preferred; required to develop working knowledge within 6 months
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 35lbs
