Shirley Parsons is partnered with an industry-leading client seeking a Site Safety Manager to support a large-scale construction project. This individual will play a key role in driving the site safety program, supporting field leadership, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company safety standards. The position requires a hands‑on safety professional who can influence safe behaviors, support high‑risk construction activities, and contribute to a strong safety culture across the project.
Qualifications- Understanding of industry consensus standards such as NFPA, ASTM, and ANSI
- Experience working with union labor preferred
- Ability to work independently with strong communication skills and the ability to influence safe behaviors
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Three (3) to five (5) years of construction safety experience required, with electrical safety experience preferred
- OSHA 30 Construction required
- CPR/First Aid certification required (Trainer certification preferred)
- Additional safety certifications preferred
- BCSP certification required
- OSHA 500 required
- Support Crew Foremen, General Foremen, and the Site Superintendent in executing the Project Safety Roadmap and Site Safety Plan
- Assist with the development, evaluation, and execution of Safety Pre‑Task Planning and Standard Work Instructions while ensuring proper review and coaching by site leadership
- Conduct daily safety observations of employee behaviors and jobsite conditions using digital safety tracking systems
- Evaluate safety program effectiveness through routine safety audits and field assessments
- Assist with development and approval of work permits including confined space, ground disturbance, and fall protection
- Provide coaching to employees on hazard recognition and mitigation using Personal Risk Assessment processes
- Partner with project leadership to develop and implement corrective action plans addressing safety concerns
- Prepare and submit weekly incident reports on larger projects to leadership and management
- Provide coaching and mentorship to reinforce safe behaviors and recognize positive safety performance
- Deliver site‑specific safety orientations for new employees joining the project
- Facilitate safety training programs including Haz Com, Fall Protection, and Lockout/Tagout
- Manage injury and illness case documentation and coordination
- Lead incident and injury investigations in partnership with site leadership
- Conduct periodic inspections of tools and equipment to ensure safe operating conditions
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with safety regulations and project safety standards
- Support project leadership in planning and delivering weekly toolbox safety meetings
- Participate in daily meetings and provide feedback to improve safety communication and engagement
- Provide oversight and mentorship for site safety coordinators as needed
- Develop SMART objectives and OKRs to track development and performance of direct reports
- Conduct annual performance evaluations for direct reports
- Local candidates within 75 miles of the jobsite will be prioritized; per diem candidates may be considered if needed.
