Vice President of Construction - Data Center Industry

We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Construction to lead and oversee all construction functions across multiple active markets for a leading global data center developer. This role offers the opportunity to operate at the VP level on one of America's largest and most advanced data center projects, driving the successful execution of hyperscale developments from pre‑construction through commissioning and closeout.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data center construction, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage complex budgets and cross‑functional teams. This is a chance to join a high‑growth organization shaping the future of digital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all construction activities across multiple campuses and regions.
  • Lead a team of construction directors and ensure accountability for CAPEX budgets and compliance with financial controls.
  • Drive execution of all project phases: pre‑construction, bidding, team selection, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Act as a strategic leader, fostering collaboration across internal stakeholders and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Manage resource allocation and workflow for direct reports and third‑party project management teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor and contractor relationships.
  • Provide cost analysis, estimating, and forecasting to support new site development and ongoing projects.
  • Partner with operations to align design and construction with maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure lessons learned are integrated into future projects for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present reports, proformas, and bid evaluations for leadership review.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10‑15 years of leadership experience in construction management (15‑20 years preferred).
  • Data center construction experience is required.
  • Expertise in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) disciplines.
  • Proven track record managing large‑scale projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in cost analysis and budget management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50‑75% as needed.
