JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hotel Maintenance Technician
The Hotel Maintenance Technician ensures the safe, functional, and aesthetic upkeep of the hotel property by performing repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Duties include preventative maintenance, fixing guest room issues (such as leaky faucets, broken lights, etc), maintaining exterior curb appeal, painting, and repairing furniture. This role requires some technical skills, proactive safety compliance, and courteous guest service.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Perform facility maintenance of the Swan Hotel as assigned by the facilities manager
- Structural repairs, landscaping, light electrical, painting, and plumbing
- Ensure all systems are operating correctly and efficiently
- Clean and maintain hotel grounds & parking areas
- Fix guest room issues
- Identify and correct safety issues as the need arises
- Work closely with NWM facilities manager, facilities tech, and hotel staff
- In collaboration with the Facilities Manager, coordinate with and help oversee hotel contractors
- Assist with semi-annual NWM floating dock installation and haulout
- Other tasks as assigned
While the primary focus of this position is hotel maintenance, the Hotel Maintenance Tech works as part of the NWM team, ensuring smooth operations. As a growing non-profit, we all pitch in for the heavy lifting, whether it's participating in all-hands projects and events, assisting visitors, or occasionally doing some literal heavy lifting.
Minimum Qualifications- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic hand/power tool proficiency
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Willing to learn new things
- Previous experience specific to: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, HVAC, grounds keeping, and/or equipment repair
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Valid WA state driver’s license
- Familiarity with Google Suite

- Position is part-time, 15 hours/week
- Reports to:
Facilities Manager
- $20-$23 per hour, non-exempt
- Matching contributions to a SIMPLE IRA retirement fund after 1 year of employment
- Paid time off: accrues 2 weeks of vacation per year, 17 paid holidays in a calendar year, & 1 hour of sick time accrued for every 25 hours worked
