Clinical Observation Student role at Jefferson Healthcare
Jefferson Healthcare is committed to supporting the development of the future healthcare workforce by offering student observation opportunities to individuals exploring careers in healthcare. Those seeking to complete clinical observation hours as part of their preparation for entry into an accredited healthcare education program must submit their application via this opening. Priority will be given to students residing in Jefferson County or attending local educational institutions.
The following guidelines and rules apply to all clinical student situations and participants:
- 18 years or older
- Enrolled in or actively applying to an accredited healthcare-related educational program (e.g., nursing, physical therapy, medical school, etc.).
- Seeking clinical observation hours required for application or admission to such programs.
- Successfully complete a background check
- Each approved participant may observe for up to 40 hours.
- Employees of Jefferson Healthcare participating must only observe and shall not perform their job. They will not receive any compensation.
- Participants must be accompanied by a JH employee at all times during the student observation.
- Participants must always be "hands off" and shall not perform any direct patient care or interact in a way that could be interpreted as patient
- Applicants must provide proof of medical coverage and required vaccines. Required to provide MMR and Varicella vaccination or titer proof.
- Most current Influenza and COVID-19 vaccination or signed declination.
- You can collect your records from your school, or the clinic where you receive vaccinations or from the Washington State Immunization Information System.
