The Jefferson County Auditor’s Office is seeking an Accounts Auditing Technician to join our team. This important position performs a variety of bookkeeping and fiscal recordkeeping activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency in County financial operations. The Accounts Auditing Technician conducts final audits of vouchers, employee reimbursement payments, and payments for goods and services purchased by the County and other jurisdictions, including Junior Taxing Districts within the County.
In this role, you will maintain accounting records, provide financial and administrative support, and audit bank reconciliations for all County bank accounts. Additional responsibilities include assisting with vendor setup and supporting the preparation, distribution, and submission of 1099 forms.
Minimum Qualifications: Individual needs to be able to perform this job successfully in each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements are listed on the job description attached, and are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or bookkeeping; or equivalent combination of education and experience. OR Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hours & Compensation: This position is part-time 20 hours per week and a Grade 27 UFCW position. Pay range is $28.45 - $34.99/hour. Starting pay is typically $28.45, depending on experience. Full medical benefits, including dental and vision. Retirement provided through Washington State DRS. Paid Time Off (PTO), 11 paid holidays, and bereavement leave.
