Cox Fleet is currently hiring a Mobile Technician Leader to join our Management Team to support the future growth of the Company. If you are looking for a new place to call home, we would love to talk to you!

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 15+ technicians, provide leadership and guidance to deliver company results.
  • Meet one-on-one with direct reports to provide coaching and mentoring and help them find solutions.
  • Retrieve, review, and monitor metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, and training or safety records to analyze team productivity and implement improvements to maintenance and repair efficiency.
  • Travel to technician and customer locations frequently.
  • Participate in and/or lead regular meetings with market team members across dispatch, parts, and billing, etc.
  • Monitor operations to ensure compliance with administrative and DOT policies, safety rules, environmental and government regulations, and organizational standards.
  • Perform onboarding activities for technicians, including equipment or tools requests, company-issued service trucks, new hire documentation, and system access to ensure safety and effectiveness.
  • Regularly conduct safety audits and Quality Control Inspections (QCIs) and Safety Audits.
  • Assist in development of and adherence to a monthly budget.
  • Coordinate with market team members to set goals and strategies for improving productivity.
  • Collaborate with dispatch and sales teams to ensure each technician has a full schedule daily.
  • Delegate work to technicians for unscheduled repair calls and coordinate with internal teams accordingly.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings and reinforce the company safety culture.
  • Implement safety processes and monitor adherence by technicians.
  • Provide guidance and expert advice to management, subordinates, or customers on technical, systems- or process-related topics.
  • Collaborate with customers to provide solutions that meet vehicle maintenance requirements and act as liaison between Cox Fleet's technicians and customers.
  • Facilitate communication and problem solving across organizational functions to resolve issues.
  • Provide technicians with standard and emergency operating procedures for maintenance, replacement, and repair work.
  • Monitor inventory levels of equipment, parts, or tools across technicians.
  • Interview, select, and train new technicians.
  • Work across Cox Fleet's organizations to resolve items related to the technician's role (e.g., HR, Parts/Procurement, Fleet Management, IT).
  • Operate a company-issued vehicle to travel to technicians and customer locations.
  • May perform some technician duties such as preventive maintenance or parts repairs or replacements as needed as a role model for technicians.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field. Alternative combinations include a master's degree with 4 years' experience, a Ph.D. with 1 year, or 10 years' related experience.
  • 1+ year of experience in management or a lead role.
  • Safe drivers needed with a 3-year MVR review; valid state-of-residence driver's license; ability to obtain and maintain Driver Qualification File.
  • Interstate operating authority; candidates must be at least 21 years or older.
  • Skills in coaching, mentoring, teaching, discipline, handling difficult conversations, and applying supportive leadership in a mobile technician environment.
  • Knowledge of the mobile work environment and maintenance practices and processes for mobile maintenance.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple group efforts to solve technician-related issues.
