As an 8th Grade Teacher, you will develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines, establish effective rapport with students, staff, and parents, and motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge for an effective educational foundation.
How You Will Impact Education- Plan and implement a program of instruction that adheres to CSUSA’s philosophy, goals, and objectives.
- Create effective lesson plans that maximize learning opportunities and incorporate real‑world application.
- Review student records to develop a foundation of understanding regarding each student’s abilities and needs.
- Utilize a variety of student learning modalities and differentiate instruction.
- Assess student strengths and weaknesses frequently, provide appropriate activities, and generate progress reports.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records.
- Coordinate field trips and prepare students for state‑required achievement assessments.
- Establish a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
- Develop reasonable classroom rules and maintain order consistently.
- Encourage student‐generated work and promote a clean workspace.
- Create lesson plans following established guidelines.
- Plan individual and group learning activities to meet instructional objectives.
- Prepare for assigned classes and provide evidence of preparation upon request.
- Participate in curriculum planning meetings.
- Incorporate diagnostic information for IEPs.
- Build cooperative relations with parents and stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly and positively with parents through appropriate channels.
- Maintain student record confidentiality.
- Participate in extracurricular activities to support school culture.
- Enthusiasm and commitment to CSUSA’s mission.
- Strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and interpersonal).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Student Information Systems.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) from an accredited college or university.
- Valid teaching certification.
- One to three years of successful teaching experience.
- Command of 8th grade ELA content and effective instructional delivery techniques.
- Successful background check.
- Adherence to the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession.
Usual office working conditions, light physical demands, and occasional travel within or outside the state.
Physical DemandsNo strenuous exertion. Light work up to 20 pounds up to 10 pounds as needed.
