The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services needed by an organization. They evaluate suppliers, compare prices and quality, and ensure timely delivery of materials while maintaining cost-efficiency and compliance with company policies. This role involves managing purchase orders, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with internal departments to understand procurement needs. Purchasing Specialists also monitor inventory levels, resolve vendor issues, and contribute to optimizing supply chain operations.
Their work supports operational continuity and helps the organization meet its strategic and financial goals.
- Monitor special order items to ensure that they are moved as promised.
- Work with department managers to review dead/slow inventory and move to more appropriate warehouse(s).
- Assist retrieving confirmations prior to receiving.
- Work within SAP platform reviewing dashboards, ensuring all items are addressed timely.
- Assist in sourcing products.
- Review and help project anticipated out of stock products.
- Address administrative challenges with product (missing pictures, information, etc.)
- Work with vendors to ensure accurate descriptions.
- Adhere to rebill processes.
- Timely maintenance of an accurate database of vendor contacts.
- Appropriately address drop ship items.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.

QualificationsRequired
Education:
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
Work Experience:
1 - 3 Years
- Excellent organizational skills
- Familiarity with inventory, scheduling and tracking software.
- Knowledge of SAP.
- Ability to effectively communicate with leaders verbally and written.
- Microsoft Office experience.
Preferred Education:
Associate's Degree/2-Year Technical
