Systems Technician

Kitsap 911 is seeking an experienced Public Safety Senior Systems Technician to operate, maintain, and support the mission‑critical radio and microwave systems that connect law enforcement, fire, and EMS across our community.

This is an opportunity to work in a high‑performing, award‑winning emergency communications agency where your technical expertise directly supports public safety.

• Administer and maintain 24x7 public safety radio & microwave systems
• Monitor system performance and initiate repair actions
• Perform OTAP (Over‑the‑Air Programming) and OTAR (Over‑the‑Air Rekeying)
• Manage radio user accounts and encryption keys
• Support interoperability with regional partner agencies
• Troubleshoot complex system, software, and hardware issues
• Coordinate with field technicians, engineers, and manufacturers

• Associate degree in electrical technologies, networking, or related field and 4 years of radio/microwave experience (or equivalent combination)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
• Commitment to supporting a 24/7 mission‑critical environment

Preferred qualifications include FCC licensing (GROL or Amateur Radio), experience with L3, Harris, microwave systems, networking, Active Directory, and system security.
