About Cedar Heights Middle School

Cedar Heights Middle School is one of three middle schools in the South Kitsap School District, serving approximately 715 students in grades six through eight. At Cedar Heights, we believe every student matters. Our mission is to empower each learner to exceed academic standards, pursue lifelong learning, build positive relationships with self and others, and live with integrity, honesty, and respect.

Education and Experience
  • Valid Washington State Principal’s Certificate
  • Master’s degree in educational administration or related field
  • Academic background in staff supervision, staff development, and curriculum instruction
  • Experience with trauma‑informed practices
  • Experience with supporting diverse student populations
  • Leadership experience with special education programs preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years successful middle school teaching or support experience preferred

  • Be an effective leader and a strong advocate for the District goals and vision
  • Support the development of a learning organization that embraces the education of all students
  • Provide instructional leadership and guidance for the middle school program
  • Promote and support a collaborative school culture
  • Operate with genuine concern for the welfare of all students, staff, parents, and the community
  • Make connections with a focus on building relationships with all students, staff, and community
  • Seek staff, student, parent/guardian and community input in planning, developing and implementing change processes
