Salary:
The salary range for this position is CAD $35.27 - $44.05 / hour.
Job Summary:
We are currently looking to fill a Casual opportunity for Cardiology Technologist at Eagle Ridge Hospital located in Port Moody, BC. Eagle Ridge Hospital is a 168 bed hospital in Port Moody, British Columbia, serving the communities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra. The hospital offers medical, surgical, and cardiac programs, as well as 24/7 emergency services with over 53,000 visits annually.

Under general supervision, performs techniques relating to Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, Holter and Ambulatory Blood Pressure (ABP) monitoring. Performs related procedures including scanning, analyzing and selecting portions of test strips; records, summarizes and/or interprets data for use by physician. As required, under the direction of a physician and under supervision, may assist with Pacemaker interrogation, monitoring and documentation.
Responsibilities- Performs ECG testing, stress testing, Holter and ABP testing.
- Explains procedures and answers patient questions in preparation for testing.
- Scans and analyzes ECG, stress and Holter monitor test strips; selects and assesses portions of test strips and summarizes for interpretation by medical staff.
- Under supervision, may assist with Pacemaker interrogation, monitoring and documentation.
- Enters patient test information into Meditech for electronic health records.
- Maintains appropriate files and reports according to department procedures/policies.
- Demonstrates ECG testing procedures and operation of related equipment to students and new staff.
- Provides orientation and training to ECG staff and other hospital staff as directed.
- Maintains equipment and completes requisitions for repair as needed.
- Distributes patient reports to appropriate wards and/or departments.
- Contributes to development, implementation and update of department policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Education and Experience
Completion of a recognized Cardiology Technology Program at the Diploma level plus two (2) years recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) certified.
